VII International Children and Youth Scientific Conference

The VII International Children and Youth Scientific Conference “Sholokhov Geography: from the Origins to the Nobel Triumph” will take place in the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov on April 24, 2019. The theme of the conference is “Sholokhov Source”: 20 Years of Environmental and Literary Education”.
Restoration of the Memorial House at the Estate of M.A.Sholokhov

The Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov starts the final stage of the restoration of the Estate, where the writer lived and worked during 1949 – 1984. At the end of April 2019, the overhaul of engineering networks will be completed at this facility and the main stage of the work – restoration of the Memorial House – will begin.
The Museum Switches to Summer Mode of Run on May 1

From May 1, 2019, the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov switches to summer mode of run. Up to October 31 inclusive, all the Museum exhibitions in Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya, Stanitsa Karghinskaya, Kruzhilin Village and in Rostov-on-Don, including the souvenir shop, will run without weekends. For the visitors to know that on May Day holidays the Museum works without weekends and to remember that the cash-desks stop working 45 minutes before closing the exhibitions.
Exhibition “Sholokhov.The Nobel Triumph”

On April 22, 2019, the excursion and exhibition centre “People’s House” in Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya will open an exhibition “Sholokhov.The Nobel Triumph” telling about the world significance of the literary work of the writer and awarding him the Nobel Prize in literature.
Holiday “Steed is the Dearest for Cossack” will Take Place on May 5

On May 5, 2019, a literary ethnographic holiday “Steed is the Dearest for Cossack” (Cossack battle arts of Vyoshenskaya) dedicated to the Great Victory Day and the birthday of Mikhail Sholokhov will take place at the Stables of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov.
On Tours about the Estate of M.A.Sholokhov

The Memorial House at the Estate of M.A.Sholokhov, in connection with the repair and restoration work, is closed for visits from April 1, 2019, to the end of the works. During this period, many of the exhibits – personal belongings of the writer, the furniture and interior items of the studies and the dining-room, books from Sholokhov’s library, numerous presents and souvenirs, and other memorial items will be shown at the exhibitions in the excursion and exhibition centre People’s House.
Exhibition “The World of Sholokhov Estate”

On April 12, 2019, the exhibition halls of the People’s House of Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya will open an exhibition “The World of Sholokhov Estate” telling about the life of M.A.Sholokhov during the 1950–1980s, about his work over the story “The Fate of a Man”, the second book of the novel “Virgin Soil Upturned” and the novel “They Fought for Their Country”.
