The electronic catalogue of the Book Chamber contains 1408 publications of books by M.A. Sholokhov in total edition of 105349943 copies in more than 90 languages of the world.

In September, 1923, the newspaper “Yunosheskaya Pravda” published a feuilleton “A Trial” by M.A. Sholokhov.

In December, 1924, the first work of fiction, a short story “Birthmark” was published in the newspaper “Molodoy Leninets” (Young Leninist).

In 1925-1926, the first books by Sholokhov and his books of collected stories “The Don Stories” and “The Tulip Steppe” were issued in mass editions.

In 1928, the  journal “Oktyabr” published the first and the second books of the novel “And Quiet Flows the Don”, the first book of “And Quiet Flows the Don” was issued in a separate edition as well.

In 1929, the first separate edition of the second book of the novel “And Quiet Flows the Don” was issued, and in Berlin the first book of the novel “And Quiet Flows the Don” was edited in German translation, it was the first foreign edition of the novel.

In 1930, the first book of the novel “And Quiet Flows the Don” was edited in foreign languages in Madrid, Paris, Prague, Stokcholm and the Hague.

In 1932, the journal “Novy Mir” published the first book of the novel “Virgin Soil Upturned”, and the journal “Oktyabr” published the third book of the novel “And Quiet Flows the Don”. The first parts of the novel “And Quiet Flows the Don” were edited in Danish in Kopenhagen.

In 1933, the first separate edition of the third book of the novel “And Quiet Flows the Don” was issued.

In 1940, a separate edition of the fourth book of the novel “And Quiet Flows the Don” was issued.

In 1942, the newspaper “Pravda” published the short story “The Science of Hatred”.

In 1943 the newspaper “Pravda” published the chapters of the novel “They Fought for Their Country”.

In 1956-1957, the newspaper “Pravda” published the short story “The Fate of a Man”.

In 1960, the publishing house “Molodaya Gvardiya” edited the novel “Virgin Soil Upturned”.

In 1965, the book “Short Stories. Essays. Articles” was edited.

In 1969, the newspaper “Pravda” and journal “Don” published the new chapters from the novel “They Fought for Their Country”.

In 1970, books of articles, essays, speeches, documents “At the Behest of the Soul” and “A Word about the Motherland” were edited.

In 1975, a book of short stories, essays, articles “With Russia in My Heart” was edited.

In 1976, the journal  “Voprosy Literatury” (“Issues of Literature”) published the article by M.A. Sholokhov “To Fight for Peace Tirelessly”.

In 1981, in Moscow, a jubilee edition of the short story “The Fate of a Man” with illustrations by O. Vereiskiy was issued.

In 1983, the journal “Inostrannaya Literatura” (“Foreign Literature”) published the appeal of M.A. Sholokhov to the writers of the world: “Let’s Protect the Life While It’s not Late”.
