On July, 3, 2015, the Estate of M.A.Sholokhov was visited by Nataliya Leonidovna Dementyeva, Honoured Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation (1996), the member of the Federation Council Committee for the Budget and Financial Markets, the former Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation.

On June, 1, the heart of Bisen Zhumagaliyevich Zhumagaliyev, a journalist, writer, public figure and advisor to the head of the West-Kazakhstan Region of the Kazakhstan Republic, stopped beating. For long years he had been in a cordial relationship with M.A.Sholokhov and his family.

Sholokhov Museum at the Festival “Soul Strings-2015”

On June, 18–21, in Stanitsa Romanovskaya the Volgodon District, there was held the XVII inter-regional festival of author’s song “Soul Strings-2015” dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory and to the Year of Literature. The group of author’s song “Vyoshentsy” was invited by the Festival Organizing Committee to perform in the festival concert.
Cossack Youth Rally in the Don Country

The All-Russian Rally of Cossack Youth “Ready for Labour and Defence” took place on June, 14–18, in Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya. Over 200 Cossacks from the 11 registered Cossack Army societies from all parts of Russia have come to Vyoshenskaya to take part in the competitions, to pass the rate test “Ready for Labour and Defence” and to learn about the Don country, the sights, where the great writer Mikhail Sholokhov lived and worked.
