In 2013, the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov with the active support by the Rostov Region Government laid a forest, a “Park of Peoples’ Friendship”, near the airport of Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya.

55 years ago, on March, 1, 1960, the newspaper “Pravda” published an article by M.A.Sholokhov “About Little Boy Harry and Big Mister Salisbury”. This article, a pamphlet, became an answer for the speech of the American correspondent Harry Salisbury in the newspaper “The New-York Times”.

A meeting devoted to the Memory Day of M.A.Sholokhov took place on February, 20, in the Palace of Culture of Vyoshenskaya. A literary and documentary composition “Black Cobweb” performed by the theatrical studio of the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve told the audience about the events of 1938, one of the most tragic periods in the life of the writer and all our country.

On these mournful days, beginning from that coldest February day of 1984, thousands and millions of people from different parts of the Earth mentally flock to the banks of the Don. Their inner sight reaches the Don and the steppe, and the low sky over it, and all that raised the genius of Sholokhov, and opened him the way to great literature.
