On June 14, 2017, the Soka University (Tokyo, Japan) will hold a social “Sholokhov: Russian Writer of Universal Importance” dedicated to the birthday of M.A.Sholokhov.
The Contest “I Can’t Live without Nature…” is Over

The jury of the contest “I Can’t Live without Nature…” dedicated to the birthday of M.A.Sholokhov and the Year of Ecology in Russia summed up the results. The contest was participated by young admirers of the work of the great writer from Rostov, the Rostov Region, the republics of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, and the Donetsk People’s Republic.

The Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov took part in the II regional festival of the Don museums “This Exciting World of Nature” which took place on June 2, in Volgodonsk, and was dedicated to the Year of Ecology in Russia and to the 100th anniversary of the Great Russian Revolution.

On Children’s Day, June 1, the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov prepared an interesting program for young residents and guests of the stanitsa. The Museum exhibitions were free for children under 16, and the interactive area “Entertaining Hamlet” offered workshops, games and competitions.

The interactive classes for schoolchildren “History on the Thread” in the excursion and exhibition centre People’s House have been completed. They were held at the exhibition “The Peoples of the Crimea” from the collection of the Crimean Ethnographical Museum.
Round Table Discussion of the Problems of Study in the Work of Sholokhov in Rostov

In Rostov-on-Don, on May 31, 2017, a round table was held to discuss the problems of study in the work of M.A.Sholokhov at the university and secondary school. It was dedicated to the 112th anniversary of the writer. The session held in Sholokhov-Centre of the Museum-Reserve was joined by nearly 60 people – university lecturers, museum workers, school teachers and students of the South Federal University.
