The collection of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov is added with a book by literary scholar Leo Yakimenko «“The Quiet Don” by M.Sholokhov. About the Writer’s Mastery» with his autograph addressed to the residents of Vyoshenskaya: “To my dear people of Vyoshenskaya. L.Yakimenko. 21.10.1970.”

The Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov took part in the scientific and practical conference “Golden Autumn”, which was held during October 16–17, 2017, in the State Memorial Historical, Artistic and Natural Museum-Reserve of Vasily Dmitriyevich Polenov, the famous Russian painter. It was dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the Big House foundation.

M.A.Sholokhov received lots of letters from the well-known people – men of letter, figures of science, art and cinema. In the family archives of the writer there is a letter from actor Pyotr Chernov, who acted in the films “The Quiet Don” and “Virgin Soil Upturned”.

The Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov will take part in the IV International specialized exhibition on preservation, restoration, use and promotion of the cultural heritage “Denkmal, Russia–Moscow”, which will run during November 8–10, 2017, in Moscow, in the exhibition complex “Gostiny Dvor”.

The Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov took part in the work of the regional scientific and practical conference “Topical Trends of the Environmental Education of the Rostov Region” dedicated to the Year of Ecology in Russia. It was held on October 13, 2017, at the Taganrog A.P.Chekhov Institute, a branch of the Rostov State Economical University.

It will tell the residents and guests of Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya about traditional outfit of the Don Cossack women of the late XVI – early XX centuries from the collection of the Starocherkassk Historical Architectural Museum-Reserve.
