Children’s Day in the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov

02.06.2017

On Children’s Day, June 1, the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov prepared an interesting program for young residents and guests of the stanitsa. The Museum exhibitions were free for children under 16, and the interactive area “Entertaining Hamlet” offered workshops, games and competitions.

The new Museum-Reserve structure offered to children and adults to get into the world of games and entertainment of the past. It was visited by over 350 children including those who spent their summer holiday at the school improving playgrounds of Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya, Stanitsa Bazkovskaya, Andropov Village, the pupils of St. Michael parochial school, the children of sports school, kindergarten and many others who came with their mothers or grandmothers.

The most popular entertainment was a wooden swing and a nest-swing. A simple and accessible fun from the last century was perceived by modern children as exotic. The queue of the children wishing to enjoy themselves swinging high did not decrease.

The Museum workers trained the children to jump over a rope, sit properly in the saddle and work on the potter’s wheel. At the exhibition of children’s drawings the boys and girls saw their coevals’ works devoted to the work of M.A.Sholokhov, and old photographs.

The young masters created unusual souvenirs within a few minutes. For memory about the holiday the children made bright paper flowers, clay fairy fish, dolls and amulet decorations. The children painted a mill, drew a tulip on the fragrant film, made a grass mat and created fantastic sandart pictures. There was a lot of fun!
