Sholokhov Museum has Won Souvenir Competition

The Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov has won the regional round of the All-Russian Festival-Competition “Tourist Souvenir” of the North-Caucasian, Central and Southern Federal Areas. It was held on August 4–5, 2017, in Belgorod. All the souvenirs presented by the Museum for the competition won the first places in their nominations.

Welcome to Sholokhov Country!

The Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov continues showing you the sights of the Upper Don area and invites you to join the project “Welcome to Sholokhov Country!” Now you see a sight of the River Don from the Shutov Mountain. This is the place, where shooting the film “The Quiet Don” (the film director S.Bondarchuk) took place, and the scenery – Cossack houses of the Melekhovs and the Astakhovs are preserved here.
Gathering of the Upper Don Cossack Pre-Conscripts

On July 24–27, 2017, a military field gathering of young Cossacks of the Upper Don Cossack army society “Vsevelikoye Voysko Donskoye” took place in Stanitsa Karghinskaya of the Bokovsky District the Rostov Region. Gathering is a Cossack traditional form of preparation for the upcoming army service. Eight yurts (divisions) of the stanitsa were represented by their teams including 10-12 best members.
The XVIII Rally of “Sholokhov Source”

The Second Round of the XVIII Rally of the children and youth environmental movement “Sholokhov Source” will take place from 8 to 10 of August. It will gather teams from the Rostov, Volgograd and Voronezh regions, the Kabardino-Balkaria, Kazakhstan and Lugansk People’s republics.
“Garage” Exhibition is Closed for Repair

From July 24, to November 14, 2017, the “Garage”, a Federal object of cultural heritage, at the “Estate, where M.A.Sholokhov lived and worked in the 1949–1984” will be closed for conservation repair.
