Welcome to “Sholokhov Spring” Holiday!

On May 25–28, the hospitable Don country for the 32nd time holds the All-Russian literary folklore holiday “Sholokhov Spring” dedicated to the birthday of the great Russian writer M.A.Sholokhov. The holiday is included in the National Event Calendar and is held under the support of the Russian Federation Ministry of Culture.
Atamans of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Territory in the Don Country

A delegation of atamans from the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Territory visited the homeland of M.A.Sholokhov. It was headed by Nikolay Ryzhkov, Ataman of the Ob-Polar Departmental Cossack Society of the Siberian Troop Cossack Societies, Valery Stepanchenko, Ataman of the Ob-Polar Cossack Line of the Siberian Cossack Troop of the Russian Union of Cossacks, and Larisa Yevdokimova, Director of the Centre for External Relations Development of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Territory. The program of the 3-day visit of the guests in the Sholokhov country was interesting, informative and rich.

On May 7, the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve held its annual literary ethnographic holiday “Steed is the Dearest for Cossack” (Cossack battle arts of Vyoshenskaya) which was dedicated to the glorious Victory Day and the forthcoming 112th anniversary of the great writer.

A ceremony of signing cooperation agreements between the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve and three institutions and organizations of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Territory took place on May 5, 2017, in Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya.

On May 9, our country will celebrate the 72d anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. M.A.Sholokhov went through the whole war as a war correspondent for the Sovinformbureau, the newspapers “Pravda” and “Krasnaya Zvezda”. The war left a hard imprint on the fate of the writer.
Siberian Cadets in Sholokhov Museum

On May 1, 2017, the homeland of the Nobel Prize winner in literature Mikhail Sholokhov was visited by a group of students of the Cadet Cossack Class of the Tazovsky District, the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Territory. The children covered over 3000 km to see Sholokhov country and learn about the Don Cossack traditions.

14 winners of the contest “Our Sholokhov” held in April of 2017, were awarded a tour to Rostov-on-Don, and on April 29, they set off on a journey to discover for themselves the Rostov of museums and theatres.
