On July, 6, the Governor of the Rostov Region V.Y. Golubev visited the Estate of M.A. Sholokhov and put flowers to the tomb of the writer.
A New Exhibition in the House-Museum of Sholokhov

In the sitting-room of the memorial house, where the writer lived in 1949-1984, an exhibition is set up, where original documents, autographs, articles are displayed to tell about warm and friendly relations of Sholokhov and the Don writer Anatoliy Kalinin, Daghestan poet Rasul Gamzatov, Ukrainian writer Oles Gonchar.

The State M.A. Sholokhov Museum-Reserve took part in the ecological and folklore holiday “The Khopyor Daybreaks” of Mikhail Sholokhov”, which was held on June, 19, in Stanitsa Bukanovskaya of the Kumylzhenskiy District, the Volgograd Region. The holiday-makers got greatly interested in the Museum exhibition devoted to the life and work of the great writer, to the history of the Don Cossacks and Upper Don nature, laid out in the stanitsa’s House of Culture.

The exhibition under this title was set up on June, 8, in the State A.S. Pushkin Museum in Moscow within the frames of the Year of Russia in France and the Year of France in Russia. The exposition devoted to the great writers of the Russian and French literature presents the house-museums of Alexander Pushkin, Mikhail Lermontov, Ivan Turghenev,Leo Tolstoy, Mikhail Sholokhov, George Sand, Gustav Flaubert, Jules Verne, Artur Rimbaud, Lui Aragon, Elza Triolet.

The State M.A. Sholokhov Museum-Reserve took part in the XII All-Russia Museum Festival “Intermuseum-2010” and the IX exhibition “Museum Equipment and Technologies “Expomuseum”, which were held on June, 2-6, in Moscow, in the all-Russia Exhibition Centre.
The Sholokhov Museum Workers at the Bard Song Festival

The workers of the State M.A. Sholokhov Museum-Reserve Alexey Vorobiyov, Alexander Chukarin and Serghey Gribanov became laureates of the 27th Regional Bard Song Festival, which took place on June, 5, in Rostov-on Don in the club of tourists and mountaineers “Planeta”. The jury admitted the Sholokhov Museum group to be “the best group” of the festival, and the song “We are Cossacks” (the author is S. Gribanov) – to be “the best song about the native land”.
