The Deputy Handed in the Rewards to the Museum Workers

At the State M.A. Sholokhov Museum-Reserve there was a meeting with Nataliya Andreyevna Statsenko, the deputy of the Rostov Region Legislative Meeting, the Chairman of the Committee on Budget, Taxes and Property. Nataliya Andreyevna told about her deputy work, answered the questions and carried out a pleasant mission – handing in the rewards to the Museum-Workers in honour of the 105thanniversary of M.A. Sholokhov.
Area Study Lessons in the Museum of M.A. Sholokhov

For several years the Museum-Reserve of M.A. Sholokhov has been holding a special course of “Area Study” jointly with the Rostov-on-Don school of experimental models “Evrika-Development”. The program provides for visiting lessons on the base of the Museum in Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya.

In the year of the 105th anniversary of Mikhail Aleksandrovich Sholokhov the 25th jubilee “Sholokhov Spring” took place in his native land.
The Song Marathon of the Folk Groups

On the second festival day, May, 22, the “Sholokhov Spring” flooded the streets and square with bright multucoloured folk dresses, perky songs and dances. The theatrical reveille was followed by the simultaneous performances on the two concert stages. Changing each other, more than 150 professional and amateur groups took part in the song marathon. The audience praised the masters of the folk song and dance with a storm of applause and cries “Lyubo!”
Walking about the Busy Fair…

It was a busy day of May, 22, for the “Town of Masters”, which occupied four central alleys of the park. There were displayed souvenirs to various tastes. Many masters had prepared their works specially for the holiday of “Sholokhov Spring”. There were ornamental dishes, wooden plates, handmade scrappy dolls like those “made by grannies”, clay toys, photographs, ceramics, wicker furniture, famous nested dolls “matryoshka”, Cossack outfit, sabres and whips, papakhas and felt cloaks, hoods and many other things which aroused enthusiastic delight in the residents and guests of Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya.

Within a night in the stanitsas’s square near the church a new “village” had risen. Here settled hospitable hosts-performers from Millerovo, Kamensk, Chertkovo, Milyutinskiy, Neklinovskiy, Bokovskiy and Verkhnedonskoy districts of the Rostov Region.
