The workers of the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve took part in the Environmental Congress of the Rostov Region held on June, 3, 2013, in Rostov. It was the first of such kind and was timed to the World Environment Day and the Ecologist’s Day of the Russian Federation.
The Inn has Recovered Its Normal Form

In the Farmstead of T.A.Karghin, one of the sites of the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve, a reconstruction of the inn has been finished. In this building, early in the XX century, the people who brought grain to the mill for grinding, halted for the night.

On the holiday “Sholokhov Spring” the Estate of M.A.Sholokhov in Vyoshenskaya was visited by nearly 1500 people. Among the guests there were well-known scholars in Sholokhov’s art, numerous folk groups, workers of culture, schoolchildren and students from Saratov, Rostov-on-Don, Volgograd, Astrakhan, Tambov, Voronezh, Kiev, Moscow, Saint-Petersburg and from foreign countries.

For the 28th time the Upper Don, Sholokhov country, was visited by those who appreciate the writer’s work, realize its importance, who love the true folk culture of the Don region. Thousands of people came to Vyoshenskaya to join the festival dedicated to the author who gained the top of the world literature of the XX century.

On May, 24–25, Kruzhilin Village, the homeland of M.A.Sholokhov, became a place of the great writer’s birthday celebrations participated by the residents and numerous guests of the village.
A Word from the Depth of the People

Today, on the 24th of May, it is the 108th anniversary of M.A.Sholokhov, the great Russian classic writer of the XX century, the Nobel Prize winner, twice Hero of Socialist Labour.The museum workers, representatives of the Sholokhov District enterprises and organizations, guests and residents of the stanitsa, students and children bring fresh flowers to the tomb of the writer in his estate and to his bust at the Don embankment. Ordinary people, whose ancestors’ lives were brilliantly and sincerely described by the writer, also come to pay a tribute to the memory of their great countryman.
