The Inn has Recovered Its Normal Form

In the Farmstead of T.A.Karghin, one of the sites of the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve, a reconstruction of the inn has been finished. In this building, early in the XX century, the people who brought grain to the mill for grinding, halted for the night.

This is one of the farmstead production area buildings, which was depicted in the works by M.A.Sholokhov, and is an architectural monument and an original example of a hotel-type facilities.

The building is one-storeyed, rectangular in the plan, with a metal gable roof, the log walls are covered with a clay-and-straw mass, whitewashed; all the wooden exterior surfaces are painted blue and white. The picture of 1989 shows the condition of the building when it was transferred to the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov. After restoration and reconstruction of the destroyed, damaged and distorted by later alterations original old parts of the monument of history and culture, the inn has recovered its normal form having covered a hard way from the XX into the XXI century.

According to the plan, on opening “the Farmstead of T.A.Karghin”, the inn, as 100 years ago, will locate a hotel with comfortable rooms for the guests of Sholokhov country.
