The Estate of M.A.Sholokhov on the Days of “Sholokhov Spring”

On the holiday “Sholokhov Spring” the Estate of M.A.Sholokhov in Vyoshenskaya was visited by nearly 1500 people. Among the guests there were well-known scholars in Sholokhov’s art, numerous folk groups, workers of culture, schoolchildren and students from Saratov, Rostov-on-Don, Volgograd, Astrakhan, Tambov, Voronezh, Kiev, Moscow, Saint-Petersburg and from foreign countries.

The guest of honour of the Estate was a Spanish poet, Antonio Porpetta, the author of 16 poetry books, the Member of the academies of the Spanish Language in the USA and Guatemala. His poems were translated into English, French, German, Italian, Portugal, Romanian, Russian, Serbian and the Arab languages.

The Memorial House was also visited by a guest from Texas (the USA), G. Mitchell Johnson, President of the Abamedia media company. He is the author of many documentaries, and at the Estate he shot some materials for his future work. In the Guest Book Mitchell Johnson put down: “I read “The Quiet Don” three years ago and was impressed not only with a plot, but also with its every detail and image. It is a great honour for me to visit this wonderful house and to come into contact with the life of the great Man and his family. I think I will come here again. Thank you for your hospitality. I am overwhelmed with ideas of what to do with such a present. Sincerely yours. Mitchell Johnson. May, 26, 2013”.
