Presentation of “Sholokhov Encyclopedia” will Take Place in Vyoshenskaya

On May, 25, at 10.30 a.m., a presentation of “Sholokhov Encyclopedia” will take place in the central library. It will be devoted to the life and work of the great Russian writer, a classic of the world literature of the XX century, the Nobel Prize winner, M.A.Sholokhov.

The house and the estate of the writer are the most frequently visited sites of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov. The last 35 years of the writer’s life, the most creative and mature, were connected with this house. The second book of the novel “Virgin Soil Upturned”, the story “The Fate of a Man” and chapters from the novel “They Fought for Their Country” were written here. The house interior of the writer’s life time is completely preserved. In the estate there are tombs of M.A.Sholokhov and his wife.

The Excursion and Exhibition Centre “The People’s House” of the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve continues showing the collections of the best museums of Russia. A ceremony of opening a new exhibition “Serghei Yesenin, an Acquaintance of Yours” from the State S.A.Yesenin Museum-Reserve (Konstantinovo Village, the Ryazan Region) was held on April, 19.
