Every Visitor Comes Here

The house and the estate of the writer are the most frequently visited sites of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov. The last 35 years of the writer’s life, the most creative and mature, were connected with this house. The second book of the novel “Virgin Soil Upturned”, the story “The Fate of a Man” and chapters from the novel “They Fought for Their Country” were written here. The house interior of the writer’s life time is completely preserved. In the estate there are tombs of M.A.Sholokhov and his wife.

The Guest Book is full of recorded impressions about visiting the house of M.A.Sholokhov. Here are some of them:

On these May days the Estate of M.A.Sholokhov will have a new mode of operation. It is open for visit daily from 10.00 to 16.00, on Thursday from 10.00 to 19.00. Excursions about the writer’s house and the Estate territory are offered. The visitors can listen to the lectures on the topics:

“The Ancestry of M.A.Sholokhov.”
“The Prototypes and Personages of the Novel “The Quiet Don” by M.A.Sholokhov”.
“The Memorial House-Museum of M.A.Sholokhov”.
“M.A.Sholokhov is the Nobel Prize Winner”.
