The State M.A. Sholokhov Museum-Reserve took part in the XI All-Russia Festival “Intermuseum-2009” and was honoured with a Special Prize and Diploma in the nomination of “Museum Project. Innovatory Solution of Traditional Problems” for the project “Visualization of the Cultural Landscape of the State M.A. Sholokhov Museum-Reserve”.

On May, 31, 2009, in Moscow there was held a General meeting of the Museum Union of Russia to hear reports and elect new officials. The director of the State M.A. Sholokhov Museum-Reserve Alexander Mikhailovich Sholokhov was elected the member of the Presidium, a leading organ of the Union.

In Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya on the base of the State M.A. Sholokhov Museum-Reserve on the eve of the 104th anniversary of the writer’s birthday the State Duma Committee on Culture held a visiting session. It was attended by the deputies of the Federal and the Rostov Region Meeting, the leaders of the regional Ministry of Culture, directors of a number of museum-reserves of the country.

On Sunday of May, 24, the twenty-fourth “Sholokhov Spring”, an all-Russia holiday, devoted to the 104th anniversary of the national favourite writer, the great and an ordinary citizen of Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya Mikhail Alexandrovich Sholokhov, had come to an end. It is very symbolic that the author of the novel “And Quiet Flows the Don” was born on the Day of Kirill and Mephodiy, on the Day of the Slav Literature and Culture.

On May, 23, 2009, from 8.15 till 24.00 on the site www.cultureonline.ru there was carried out an online translation of the all-Russia literary and folklore holiday “Sholokhov Spring”, and the Internet users could become real participants of the people’s holiday-making, devoted to the 104th birthday anniversary of M.A. Sholokhov.
