Early in November, 2009, the museum workers of the youth program department visited the State Memorial and Natural Reserve “The Museum-Estate of L.N. Tolstoy “Yasnaya Polyana” for the purpose of experience exchange.

On the 5th of November, 2009, at the “People’s House” of the State M.A. Sholokhov Museum-Reserve there was a meeting with the chief editor of the magazine for a family reading “Muraveinik” (“Ant-Hill”) Nikolay Nikolayevich Starchenko. The meeting was joined by the museum workers, librarians, teachers, schoolchildren and students of the pedagogical college named after M.A. Sholokhov.

75 years ago, on the 7th of November, 1934, in the newspaper “The Bolshevistskiy Don” there was published an article by M.A. Sholokhov “To Have a Cultural Way of Life in the Kolkhoz”, where the writer raised a problem of “low cultural level in the working masses of our country”. The original title of the article was “For the Book”.
The Folk Talents Festivity

The folk group “Zarnitsa” on November, 4, 2009, joined the festival of the Sholokhov District folk creative groups possessing the title “Narodnyi” (belonging to the people). The festivity was devoted to 80th anniversary of the district foundation.
A Branch of the State M.A. Sholokhov Museum is Going to be Founded in Rostov

The State M.A. Sholokhov Museum-Reserve has completed framing the scientific and project documentation for restoring “The House of Martyn Brothers”, a structure of the historic and cultural heritage of federal significance. Now the works to fortify the foundation are going on. After the building restored there will be opened a branch of the Museum-Reserve.
