On the Wave of Our Memory

The State M.A. Sholokhov Museum-Reserve is preparing a new exhibition “Return to Us a Little Memory of the Past…”, dedicated to the Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya of the 50-60-s of the previous century.

The exposition is based on the living-room interior, typical of those years, the articles of decorative – applied arts, china and glass wear, home utensils, everyday appliances, clothes, perfumery.

Here we can see a lamp TV-set “Rekord-67”, a bobbin taperecorder “Kometa”, a wireless radio-set combined with a record-player and a real rarity – a telephone of 1960 having an inductor.

It would be interesting for schoolchildren to learn about the life of their coevals in the Soviet time, to see the attributes of the pioneer organization, textbooks of those years, to listen to a popular at that time radio program “Pionerskaya Zorka”.

The exhibition will open on June, 9, 2009, at the Excursion-Exhibition centre “The People’s House” (66 Podtyolkov Street).
