Exhibition “The Study and World of the Writer” will Open in “Polotnyany Zavod” Museum-Reserve

On March 6, 2019, the intermuseum exhibition project “The Study and World of the Writer” under the auspices of the Association of Literary Museums of the Russian Museum Union will begin its run in the Museum-Reserve “Polotnyany Zavod”, a unit of the structure of the Kaluga United Museum Reserve.
“Virgin Soil Upturned”: the First Attempt to the Film Adaptation

This year, it is the 85th anniversary of the day when the work on the film script “Virgin Soil Upturned” (the film director N.M.Shengelaya) was completed. Though the plans of the creative group including M.A.Sholokhov remained unfulfilled and the film was not shot, the script is considered to be one of the best film drama works of its time.
Museum Classes for Schoolchildren “Hello, Museum!”

During January – February, 2019, the museum workers of the Youth Program Department gave visiting museum workshops at the educational institutions of the Sholokhov District. They were attended by nearly four hundred boys and girls of six schools and two kindergartens – in Stanitsa Bazkovskaya, and in the villages of Kruzhilin, Dubrovsky, Kolundayevsky, Kalinovsky and Ternovskoy.

A merry holiday of Shrovetide will be held at the Museum Stables on March 9, 2019, from 11.00 to 14.00. Children and adults are offered traditional folk festivities and an interesting entertaining program.
Memory Day of the Great Writer was Marked in Russia and Abroad

On February days, the memory of Mikhail Alexandrovich was marked with exhibitions, readers’ conferences, creative meetings, thematic socials, scientific and practical seminars in many regions of Russia and in foreign countries. Flowers were laid at the tomb of the writer and his bust in Vyoshenskaya, at the monuments in Rostov-on-Don, Moscow, Nikolayevsk the Volgograd Region, Boguchar the Voronezh Region, Daryinskoye Village in Kazakhstan.
M.A.Sholokhov Memorial Meeting in Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya

On February 21, 2019, a memorial meeting dedicated to the 35th anniversary from the date of death of M.A.Sholokhov, the great loss for all of us, took place in Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya, in the Palace of Culture.

On February days, the events dedicated to the Memory Day of M.A.Sholokhov took place in Rostov-on-Don. A ceremony of laying flowers at the bust of the writer in Pushkin Street and at his monument at the Don embankment took place on February 21.
