The State M.A. Sholokhov Museum-Reserve is active in developing its tourist activity with a special aspect of organizing tours for schoolchildren. The museum workers show the memorial sites and natural places of interest in Sholokhov country for children as well as organize tours to the cultural centres of Russia.

The workers of the youth program department of the State M.A. Sholokhov Museum-Reserve held museum lessons in the Rostov school of prospective educational models “Evrika-Development” in the special course of “Area Study” which became a sort of summing up on the topics covered before and preliminaries for the educational summer field work “Vyoshki”.

The first round of the XI International Rally of the Children and Youth Ecological movement “The Shololkhov Sourse” has passed. The young literaries and ecologists from the Rostov, Voronezh, Volgograd and Moscow regions, Kazakhstan, Byelorus, Ukrain introduced for the contest 42 research papers devoted to the creative work of the writer, the Cossack everyday life, the history and natural traits of the native places.

The exhibition, devoted to the 105th anniversary of M.A. Sholokhov, is open on these May days in the library of the Special Astrophysical Observatory of the Russian Academy of Sciences, which is situated in the village of Nizhniy Arkhys of Karachayevo-Cherkessiya. Here the world-known scientists work and students and postgraduates go through one of the best home scientific schools.

For more than twenty years the State M.A. Sholokhov Museum-Reserve has been holding a contest “Our Sholokhov” which is participated by schoolchildren from Sholokhov and Bokovskiy districts. This year the nominations in the creative competition of the young Sholokhov learners were artistic reciting, arts and crafts and fine arts. The winners were entitled to perform in the Moscow open festival “Sholokhov Spring – 2010”, taking place in the cultural centre “Moscovite” of the South-East Administrative District.
