“The Boundless World”

The State M.A. Sholokhov Museum-Reserve takes an active part in Russian and foreign exhibitions which are good grounds for wide publicity of the new projects joined by the conception of “The Open Air Novel”. On April, 16-18, in Rostov-on-Don, the XIII International Festival of Tourism and Rest “The Boundless World” took place, where the Museum presented tourist and excursion itineraries as well as new schemes in tourindustry – a rural and social tourism.
The Contest “Our Sholokhov”

The Museum-Reserve held the 25th annual contest for schoolchildren “Our Sholokhov”, devoted to the writer’s birthday. The aim of the contest was spreading the Sholokhov heritage and bringing along patriotism in the young generation.
The Journal “Don” is 85

On April, 15, it was the 85th anniversary of the literary and fiction journal “Don”, which is published in Rostov-on-Don, and is a tribune of the Writers’ Union of Russia. The first title of the journal was “Lava”, in 1927 it was called “At an Upsweep”, and from 1957 it was named “Don”.
A Jubilee of the Best “Grigoriy Melekhov”

On the 14th of April, 2010, it was the 95th anniversary of Pyotr Petrovich Glebov, the actor, who performed Grigoriy Melekhov in the brilliant Gherasimov’s screening version of the novel “And Quiet Flows the Don” by M.A. Sholokhov. We have missed Pyotr Petrovich for ten years already, but his hero is living on the screen, and he remains the best of all “Melekhovs” who have ever appeared in the cinematograph.
The Museum Fund Classes for Schoolchildren

At the Museum-Reserve of M.A. Sholokhov a cycle of classes for the 5-form schoolchildren of Vyoshenskaya secondary school is conducted to get them acquainted with registration and keeping the museum objects.
A Story about Alyoshka’s “Simple Heart”

85 years ago, in 1925, M. Sholokhov wrote one of his early stories – “Alyoshka’s Heart”. It was published in issue 5 of the “Peasant Youth Journal” on March, 31.
