To Kruzhilin Village, Back in Days of Old!

Have you ever seen Ded Shchukar and Panteley Prokofiyevich Melekhov talking with each other? You may say it is impossible. But it can be! For instance, at the literary and ethnographic holiday “Kruzhilin Toloki”, these and other Sholokhov’s personages discarding the timeframe took part in the theatrical show “At Haymaking with the Melekhovs”. The holiday was held for the fourth time.
“Sholokhov Readings”: a New Stage

The international scientific conference “Sholokhov Readings-2013” marked by the publication of “Sholokhov Encyclopedia” took place in Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya. The Encyclopedia presentation was held this year in the homeland of the writer on his birthday.
To Tarkhany, for Experience Exchange

In the August of 2013, the workers of the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve visited the State Lermontov Museum-Reserve “Tarkhany” on the purpose of the working experience exchange. “Tarkhany” is one of the most picturesque places of Russia, where Mikhail Yuriyevich Lermontov spent his childhood. The museum was founded in 1939, experienced many difficulties which it overcame successfully. Since 1960, it has been included in the List of Historical and Cultural Monuments of Republican (the RSFSR) importance. In 1997, the Museum-Reserve “Tarkhany” was listed in the State Code of Particularly Valuable Cultural Heritage Objects of the Peoples of the Russian Federation. The National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve was awarded the same status in 2006.

The National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve has become the winner of the all-Russian historical and literary prize “Alexander Nevsky” for the project “Open Air Novel” presented for the contest of the museum memorial projects.
Sholokhov Museum Joined the XXIII General Conference of ICOM

The workers of the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve joined the XXIII General Conference of the International Council of Museums (ICOM), which took place on August, 10-17, in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). The main theme of the conference was “Museum (Memory + Creativity) = Social Change”.
Journalists Visited Sholokhov Museum

On August, 15–16, the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov was visited by the journalists of the federal and regional mass media, members of the press-tour organized by the Southern Department of the Russian Ministry of Culture and the Rostov Region Ministry of Culture before holding in the Don region the XII All-Russian Congress of the Heritage Institute of History and Culture.
