The picture was taken in the year of their wedding. The writer’s wife, Mariya Petrovna Sholokhova (Gromoslavskaya) (1902-1992) was born in Stanitsa Bukanovskaya.
Mariya Petrovna was the keeper of the home hearth, foundations and traditions of the Sholokhovs’ family.
