Vyoshenskaya in the Works by R.G.Maksyutov
One of the famous landscape painters of Russia, Rashid Maksyutov, early in the 1960s visited Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya, where he met with M.A.Sholokhov.
In the Don country, the artist painted a series of landscapes: “In Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya”, “The House of M.A.Sholokhov”, A Lane”, “Spring”, “The Don Pier”, “Steppe. A Grey Day”, “In the Don Village” and others. All the works are imbued with a great lyrical sense, the subtlest colour and mood appearing when conversing with the world of nature.
The picture “The House of M.A.Sholokhov” was demonstrated in the literary Museum at the exhibition “M.A.Sholokhov. The Life and Work”.
Rashid Garifovich confessed that the works connected with his native Podmoskovye and Vyoshenskaya were the dearest for him. R.G.Maksyutov cherished a warm and reverent attitude to the Cossack Stanitsa also because of his meeting his future wife here.
