NewsPushkin Museums in the Don Country16.10.2015On October, 15, 2015, the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve was visited by Director of the State Museum-Reserve of A.S.Pushkin “Mikhailovskoye” G.N.Vasilevich and his wife, and Director of the All-Russian Museum of A.S.Pushkin S.M.Nekrasov. The guests visited Kruzhilin Village, Stanitsa Karghinskaya and the Museum sites in Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya. With great interest they learned about the lifestyle of the Don Cossacks in the XIX–XX centuries, about the work of the roller mill and visited the Museum Stables. The guests were impressed by the audio recording of M.A.Sholokhov’s reading the last lines of the novel “And Quiet Flows the Don”. They were shown round the estate of M.A.Sholokhov and visited the tombs of the writer and his wife.The next day the guests left for Rostov-on-Don, where in Sholokhov-Centre they joined the opening ceremony of the exhibition “A.S.Pushkin.The Life and Lyre” prepared by the State Museum of A.S.Pushkin (Moscow) and the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve with participation of the members of the “Community of Pushkin Museums”: the All-Russian Museum of A.S.Pushkin (S.-Petersburg), the State Historical and Literary Museum-Reserve of A.S.Pushkin (Bolshiye Vyazemy), the State Memorial Historical, Literary and Natural Landscape Museum-Reserve “Mikhailovskoye”. This exhibition continues our long-lasting friendship and fruitful cooperation between the literary museums of Russia.
