The Meeting at the Moscow University of Culture

On November, 11, A.M.Sholokhov, Director of the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve, had a meeting with the students of the Moscow State University of Culture and took part as the guest of honour in the Interuniversity Conference “Masters of the Russian Language Arts”, which took place in the student reading-room of the University scientific library.

The conference was joined by A.V.Larionov, a writer, editor-in-chief of the journal “Slovo”; A.M.Ushakov, Philology Doctor, professor of the World Literature Institute; S.A.Nebolsin, Philology Doctor, professor of the World Literature Institute; S.T.Korneyev, Philology Doctor, professor of the RF Military University; teachers and students of the Moscow State University of Culture.

The Conference was devoted to the work of A.V.Larionov, a writer, the International M.A.Sholokhov Prize winner, the author of the novels “Fate”(1990), “Remorse”(2000) and other works. The art of Arseny Larionov attracts young readers with deep thoughts, originality, search for answers to major philosophical, moral and social questions of the time, and that he does not give ready answers, but encourages the reader to reflect upon in search of the meaning of life.

The members of the Conference spoke about the Russian literature, the Russian word, about the language arts, discussed the publicistic works of literary scholars and writers about Pushkin, Dostoyevsky, Tolstoi and Sholokhov.

After the Conference A.M.Sholokhov answered numerous questions of the young journalists about the work of the Museum-Reserve, the readers’ interest for the Russian literature, the Sholokhov Prize and about Mikhail Sholokhov among his family. The answers were published as an interview in the University’s newspaper “Akademiya”.
