A Rise of the Museum “Zorenka”
10.06.2013A Children’s folk group “Zorenka” is set up in the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve. It got its name from the first line of the Upper Don popular song “Zorenka-Zarnitsa”. It was a favourite song of Mikhail Alexandrovich Sholokhov.
“Zorenka started its work in the January of 2012. The group consists of 12 members, schoolchildren of Vyoshenskaya. At the lessons held in the Museum Excursion and Exhibition Centre “The People’s House” the children learn about the Upper Don song folklore, the peculiarities of the folk dances, train in acting. The young performers have got a little experience of participation in concerts.
The group performs playing and dancing songs. The children acquire elements of a typical Cossack manner in dancing.
The training program is designed for 5 years. The young performers are going to acquire an improvised polyphony in singing, a classic folk performing manner, to learn historical, soldier’s, family and domestic songs and rites of the Upper Don Cossacks.
The group performed at the festival of “Sholokhov Spring” in the stanitsas of Vyoshenskaya and Karghinskaya, in Lebyazhy Village, at the rally of young ecologists of “Sholokhov Source”, took part in holiday concerts, in the House of Culture of Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya.
In the September of 2013, a younger group of the ensemble is going to be assembled on a competition basis.
