Sholokhov Museum on the Holiday “Rus of Songs, Rus of Artisans
14.08.2012The Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov took part in the festival of folklore, arts and crafts “Rus of Songs, Rus of Artisans”, which was held on August, 10- 12, in the village of Lomy, the Voronezh Region.
The holiday gathered more than 10 thousand people from all parts of the Voronezh Region, Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Vladikavkaz, Kemerovo, Volgograd and other regions.
The Rostov Region was represented by the group “Zarnitsa” of the State M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve. We pleased the audience with old Cossack songs performed in the singing manner of the XIX century Upper Don. The guests and festival members enjoyed the Museum master-classes on pottery, wickerwork and wood carving held by the masters of the Museum Department of Applied Art. The articles made by “the pupils” were given to them as souvenirs.
The Museum-workers brought as souvenirs commemorative coins with pictures minted by Vorobiyov smiths in honour of the jubilee festival. For us the festival “Rus of Songs,Rus of Artisans” is a holiday, a peculiar experience exchange and a creative interaction with talented people.
