Editions of the Museum are Exhibited at the London Book Fair

14.04.2011

The State M.A. Sholokhov Museum-Reserve took part in the 40th London Book Fair, which was held in Earl’s Court on April, 11-13, 2011.

Over 1500 participants from almost 60 countries gathered in the British capital. Russia was presented at the forum as an Honorary Guest. Within the three days about a hundred business and cultural events – seminars, meetings, debates, presentations took place.

Director of the State M.A. Sholokhov Museum-Reserve A.M. Sholokhov presented books, collected scientific papers, catalogues of the Museum holding collection, booklets edited by the Museum lately, as well as a new edition of the novel “And Quiet Flows the Don”, a presentation of which was held in Moscow some days before. The information about the State M.A. Sholokhov Museum-Reserve and its activity was laid out on the site of the London Book Fair: http: //www. londonbookfair.co.uk/page.cfm/Action=Exhib/ExhibID=5227, where it was available for the Internet users from different countries.

The Fund of Academia Rossica, which is active in promoting Russian culture in Great Britain, thanked the Museum of M.A. Sholokhov for taking part in the international forum and hoped that the joint efforts put into laying out the Russian stand will give results and promote further publication projects. The experience of participation in the book fair was useful for the Museum workers and gave an impetus to new ideas.
