Ecological Problems were Discussed

The State M.A. Sholokhov Museum-Reserve took part in the IV Inter-Regional Scientific Practical Conference “Ecology and Culture: From the Past to the Future”, which was held by the State N.A. Nekrasov Literary Memorial Museum-Reserve “Karabikha” on December, 2-3, in the country of Yaroslavl. Specialists of the museum-reserves, national parks, scientific institutions, representatives of the public institutions and offices engaged in the study and complex protection of the cultural and natural heritage, ecological education, discussed the topical problems.

The  session took place in the exhibition hall of the State N.A.  Nekrasov Museum-Reserve “Karabikha” and in the Yaroslavl State P.G. Demidov University. The conference participants were greeted by the chairman of the Committee on standardizing and ecological examination of the Yaroslavl Region Department of the Environmental Protection and Land Use A.S. Dunayev and the museum-reserve director A.A. Ivushkin.

During the forum sessions a wide range of subjects were discussed: “Ecology and Culture are fundamental grounds of the social development”; “Studies and protection of the natural and cultural heritage sites”, “National cultural traditions and the modernity”, “Monitoring of the cherished natural territories” and others.

The museum-workers of the State M.A. Sholokhov Museum-Reserve N.P. Kuznetsova and M.V. Sychova spoke about the work of the Museum on reviving the Upper Don Cossack traditions, ecological and tourist itineraries, the uniqueness of the reserved Sholokhov places.

The conference issued in a resolution to work out a special program on ecological education of the younger generation, preservation the archaeological heritage objects and restoration the garden-park and landscape sites.

The forum participants saw the exposition of antiquarian objects of the “Museum of Russian Enterprise” which helps to plunge into the time of development of business undertakings in Rus. They were greatly impressed by the ancient Yaroslavl with its thousand-year history, old memorials of architecture and art, high culture and scientific achievements, the wonderful nature of the Middle Russian Plain plentiful with rivers and lakes.
