The Museum is Honoured with Grand Prix of the National Prize “EcoWorld”

The State M.A. Sholokhov Museum-Reserve became the Grand Prix winner of the national ecological prize “EcoWorld-2009”. It was awarded with a special Diploma of the First Degree. The director of the Museum A.M. Sholokhov was invested with the Badge of Honour “For Merits”. The awarding ceremony took place on June, 4, 2009, in the State Duma of the Federal Meeting of the Russian Federation.

The Museum has gained a victory having presented for the contest six projects prepared by the research workers in different aspects including ecological education and training, ecology and health, preservation of biological diversification and landscape sanitation of the Sholokhov region, preservation of the architectural appearance of Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya and revival of the ethnocultural traditions.

When receiving the reward the director of the Museum A.M. Sholokhov expressed his hope that the September session of the State Duma would finally pass the law about the museum-reserves, not existing de jure in the current legislation of Russia. “The present law has no mentioning about the cultural and nature-preserving territories, and this situation should be corrected as soon as possible” – Alexander Mikhailovich emphasized.

The rewarding ceremony was timed to by the exhibition of “Innovations in Providing a Stable Development of Russia: Experience and Prospects of the Legislation Realization in the Subjects of the Russian Federation”. The Museum-Reserve of M.A. Sholokhov is rewarded with the Diploma for the exposition “The Open Air Novel” which was recognized the best at the exhibition.
