At the Jubilee Museum Festival

The Sholokhov State Museum-Reserve took part in the jubilee Xth All-Russia festival “Intermuseum-2008”, which was held from May, 28 till June, 1, 2008 in Moscow in the exhibition hall of the All-Russia Exhibition Centre.

The geography of the museums­­–participants widens from year to year. This time it enrolled 207 museums from different regions of Russia from Kaliningrad to Sakhalin.

The forum enables the museums to display their achievements, communicate with the colleagues, exchange their professional experience.

We competed with other 46 museums in the nomination “The History of My Museum” presenting a telefilm “The Reserve on the Banks of the Quiet Don”, made in the “Don-TR” studio by L.A. Surkova and L.V. Rublyovskaya. The film is about the history of foundation, today and tomorrow of the Museum. It is arranged on the acts of the stocks of the Sholokhov State Museum-Reserve and newsreels of different years. It also included newsreels from the archives of the company “Don-TR”. In creating the film and selecting the stuff for it many museum workers took part.

The film was presented by the headmaster of the Museum A.M. Sholokhov.

The festival summing-up ceremony took place in the State Academic Maly Theatre.

The Sholokhov Museum-Reserve was granted a diploma of the finalist in the contest “The History of My Museum”.
