This Summer in Irkutsk

The head of the Sholokhov State Museum – Reserve was the guest of the literary meetings called «This Summer in Irkutsk» which were held early in June. The citizens of Irkutsk and the Irkutsk Region were visited by poet Vladimir Kostrov, literary critic Igor Zolotussky, prosaic and literary researcher Alexey Varlamov and the headmasters of the two well-known museum- reserves – Vladimir Tolstoy and Alexandre Sholokhov.

The Sholokhov State Museum-Reserve took part in the jubilee Xth All-Russia festival “Intermuseum-2008”, which was held from May, 28 till June, 1, 2008 in Moscow in the exhibition hall of the All-Russia Exhibition Centre.

On May, 10, 2008 in Veshenskaya in the Exhibition Centre “Narodny Dom” (the People’s House) a presentation of the personal photo-exhibition of well-known Rostov photoartist Karp Pashiniyan “Stanitsa Veshenskaya and Its Suburbs” – “The Wings over the Don” was held.
Sholokhov Museum at the Exhibition “Intourmarket – 2008”

The Sholokhov State Museum-Reserve again took part in the work of the International Specialized Exhibition “Intourmarket – 2008”, organized for the third time by the companies “Expotour” and “Euroexpo” under the support of the Government of the RF. It was held from 15 till 18th of March at the International Exhibition Centre “Crocus Expo” in Moscow.
The People Dressed in Silver

“The People Dressed in Silver” is an exhibition of the National Museum of Chuvashia of which the opening ceremony was held on March, 20, 2008, in the Narodny Dom of the Sholokhov State Museum-Reserve. It was a replying event of the Minister of Culture of the Chuvashian Republic: at the National Book festival called “Between the Volga and the Sura” held last year in Cheboksary in the Chuvashian National Museum there was arranged an exhibition from our Museum-Reserve depository “The Wars of Russia in the XX century in the Works of M.A. Sholokhov”. At the festival the museum folklore group “Zarnitsa” (director V. Koshkina) performed successfully.
Master-Class for Guides

Early in March a group of workers of the Sholokhov State Museum-Reserve took a course of training in Saint-Petersburg State University of Culture and Art at the faculty of museum keeping and excursion guiding according to the program “Organization and Realization Techniques of the Museum Guiding Programs”.
