Our Land Through the Object-Glass of Karp Pashiniyan

On May, 10, 2008 in Veshenskaya in the Exhibition Centre “Narodny Dom” (the People’s House) a presentation of the personal photo-exhibition of well-known Rostov photoartist Karp Pashiniyan “Stanitsa Veshenskaya and Its Suburbs” – “The Wings over the Don” was held.

Karp Grigoriyevich Pashiniyan was born on November 1, 1950 in Kislovodsk. He graduated from biological faculty of the Rostov State University, then he took a postgraduate course of this University. He is a historian of photography art, a Member of the Journalist Union of Russia, a professor of the Rostov Art College named after M.B. Grekov. He is a participant and a laureate of the All-Union (the USSR) and International Contests. In Rostov-on-Don his exhibitions were arranged in the Museum of Fine Arts, in the Museum of local lore, in the State Public Library.

The personal exhibition of Karp Pashiniyan’s work was successfully exposed in 1995 in Dortmund, Germany. His photosketches, portraits, pictures for the photo albums “On the Edge of Meotida”, “The Silver Horseshoe of the Don”, “It Began with the Legend”, “Who is Who in Rostov-on-Don and the Rostov Region”, “Sholokhov’s Age” are well known to many people.

         The exhibition of this outstanding master of artistic photography enamoured of Sholokhov’s land, “a knight of photo-objective” will last till July, 10/

         Exhibition Centre “Narodny Dom” of the Sholokhov Museum-Reserve is open from 9.00 till 16.00 (except Monday).
