Libraries of Russia Continue the Network Marathon “We Read Sholokhov”

23.05.2020

Interregional network marathon dedicated to the 115th anniversary of the birth of Mikhail Sholokhov, started on October 1, 2019 and during this time gained such popularity that the organizers of the action - the Rostov-on-Don city centralized system and the Russian library association - decided to continue it after the writer's anniversary.

We can study the geography of the country when we turn to the libraries participating in the marathon. During this time, the works of the great writer have been read by children and adults from different parts of not only Rostov, but also Volgograd, Voronezh, Novgorod, Omsk, Oryol, Pskov, Ryazan, Samara, Saratov, Sakhalin, Tula, Ulyanovsk, Chelyabinsk regions, Altai, Krasnodar, Krasnoyarsk, Stavropol territories, republics of Bashkortostan, Karelia, Mari El, Mordovia, Tatarstan, Chuvashia.

The Museum of Mikhail Sholokhov of the Rostov-on-Don school № 91 takes an active part in all the events organized by the library community on the anniversary of the front-line writer and the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory. Young guides and researchers of the writer’s work prepared videos and presentations about Sholokhov’s military prose, performed in the poetic contest “Victory Rings Through the Years”.

The libraries, like the whole country, celebrate the anniversary of the great writer in difficult conditions. Going online, they organized virtual exhibitions of Mikhail Sholokhov’s works and children's drawings on his work, lectures, literary and musical festivals, where the word Sholokhov will again sound.
