First Publication of the Story “Shibalkovo Semya”

On March 8, 1925, 95 years ago, in the magazine “Ogonyok” No. 11 on the first and third pages the story of Mikhail Sholokhov “Shibalkovo Semya” was first published. A year later, it was included in the collection “Don Stories”, published in the publishing house “Novaya Moskva” with a preface by Aleksander Serafimovich.
Exhibition of Works by Zurab Tsereli “Form and Color” Opened in “Sholokhov-Center”

On March 2, 2020 the exhibition “Form and Color” of works by the President of the Russian Academy of Arts Zurab Tsereteli opened in the "Sholokhov-Center" of the National Sholokhov Museum-Reserve. The exhibition features 40 works by the master, including a portrait of Mikhail Sholokhov, created in 1983. Most of the work is done in the technique of volume enamel. The exposition is complemented by sculptural works of small plastic from the series “Citizens”.

On February 27, 2020 Sholokhov Museum-Reserve presented at the Lipetsk Regional Art Museum the exhibition "Mikhail Sholokhov: About the Homeland, Russia, and Don" dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and the 115th anniversary of the birth of Mikhail Sholokhov.
How We Celebrated the Maslenitsa

The merry holiday of Maslenitsa (Christian Carnival) held at the museum stables on February 29 became real winter farewells. The day turned out to be surprisingly sunny and warm, which reminded of the imminent onset of spring. In the morning, cheerful and smart buffoons called everyone for Maslenitsa and created the mood for the guests of the holiday.
IX Youth Scholochov Readings Held in the “Sholokhov-Center”

On February 29, 2020 the IX open city scientific-practical conference “Youth Sholokhov Readings-2020” hosted in the "Sholokhov-Center" of the National Sholokhov Museum-Reserve, organized jointly with the Institute of Philology, Journalism and Intercultural Communication of the Southern Federal University (IPJIC SFU). Students of both Rostov and regional educational institutions took part in it.

85 years ago, the Sholokhov family settled in a house with a mezzanine on the Sovetskaya street, 50. It was located on the territory of modern Estate of Mikhail Sholokhov.
