Exhibition “Happy New Year!..”

The memorial house at the Estate of M.A.Sholokhov shows an exhibition “Happy New Year!..” running until January 13, 2019. It displays New Year greeting postcards sent to M.A.Sholokhov and his family and holds interactive museum classes for schoolchildren.

On December days the classes were attended by 148 school students, who learned about the history of the New Year greeting cards in Russia, about the artists whose works pleased children and adults with bright colours and original pictures. Then they wrote their greetings on the postcards made after the models of the 1950-1980s, and posted them from the Sholokhovs’ house to their families and friends.

The classes were interesting and brightly impressed the children. They wrote in the Guest Book: “Thank you for the class. It was very interesting…I admire this museum. I will come again…”; “I like it very much! Thank you for the interesting program! Dudarev Igor”; “It is very interesting! Thank you a lot. Rudakova Sofiya”; “It is very interesting! I will come again. Yegorova Kseniya”.

The classes were also held on the first days of 2019. In all, 173 New Year greeting postcards were posted from the memorial house of M.A.Sholokhov.
