“School of Young Parents” in Kruzhilin

Traditions and customs associated with christening a child will be told about on September 2, 2018, at the literary ethnographical holiday “Kruzhilin Toloki”. A “School of Young Parents” will work at the Cossack Farmstead of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov.

The guests of the holiday will learn how babies were bathed and swaddled early in the last century in the Upper Don region, and they can take part in preparations and carrying out these procedures. Thus, the contest “The Way Water Rolls off Geese, Let Illness Get off the Baby” will be a unique opportunity to take water from the well, carry it on the yoke, wash and swaddle a baby, wash the diapers on the washing board and make them smooth with a rubel.

“Sleep, my Cossack Baby, Good Little Boy” is another contest to learn how the ancestors lulled a baby in a hanging cradle and to learn and sing old Cossack lullabies.

The contest “The Slower You Go, the Further You’ll Get” will enable to see a wicker retro pram and drive it along the road with improvised obstacles.
