“Children Sholokhov Spring” in Stanitsa Karghinskaya

On May 25, 2018, in Stanitsa Karghinskaya, where the great Russian writer spent his childhood and youth, and began his writing career, many boys and girls from different parts of Russia will gather for the children literary folklore holiday “Children Sholokhov Spring”. This year, for the first time, the festival will be held at two venues.

The “Farmstead of T.A.Karghin” of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov will offer the children a creative informative program “Old Mill Workshop”. They will see an exhibition of children's technical works and a demonstration of radio controlled models of airplanes, ships and cars, a performance of children song and dance groups, a play “Teremok” of the national puppet theatre, will take part in the adventure game “Daring Little Cossacks”, in the workshops on robotics, modeling, printed graphics, art collage, ceramics, beadwork and aquagrum, will have a ride on a pony, in a carriage and will enjoy swings and carousels.

The musical program “Let’s Make the World Brighter!” to be shown on the central square of Stanitsa Karghinskaya will be joined by the young performers from Moscow, the Volgograd and Rostov regions. At the literary venue “Reading Sholokhov” the guests will hear fragments of Sholokhov’s works performed by the reciters – the winners of the literary contest. The children will see an exhibition of articles and drawings “The World of Sholokhov through the Eyes of Children”, will take part in the workshops and in the environmental marathon.

The guests of Stanitsa Karghinskaya can also make a tour about the Museum structures, buy souvenirs and take pictures with the holiday participants.

Taking part in the “Children Sholokhov Spring” enables the young performers to demonstrate their creative achievements in choreography, singing, painting, arts and crafts, declamation, design and modeling, and to communicate with the peers from different parts of Russia. For the numerous viewers it is a good opportunity to see and to learn a lot of new and interesting things.

The holiday begins on May 25, at 14.00 in Stanitsa Karghinskaya at the “Farmstead of T.A.Karghin” of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov.
