Thirty Springs of the Creative Contest “Our Sholokhov”

12.04.2018

On April 10, 2018, the final stage of the annual creative contest “Our Sholokhov” was held in Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya. For thirty years the contest has been gathering talented schoolchildren on the eve of the great writer’s birthday. This year the contest was attended by over a hundred winners in the district contest stages of the north Rostov Region and the Serafimovich District of the Volgograd Region.

Together with the young readers, artists, masters of arts and crafts, their teachers and parents arrived. At the opening ceremony of the final stage, the contestants and viewers were greeted by Lora Alexandrovna Akolzina, Scientific Secretary of the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve, and Marina Fyodorovna Popova, Head of the Department of Youth Programs.

The works of the contest winners in the nominations “Fine Art” and “Arts and Crafts” were shown at the exhibition. The viewers highly appreciated the talented drawings and articles and noted a high level of children’s works and a variety of the techniques.

Traditionally, there was an acute competition in the nomination “Artistic Reading”. Bright, lively, talented performances of the young participants evoked a lively response of the audience, before the eyes of which there blossomed a tulip steppe, Sholokhov’s heroes came to life in their tragic or happy moments of life.

It was very difficult for the jury to choose the best of the best. Finally, the first place in the minor group was taken by Margarita Latyshova (Vyoshenskaya school) and Mikhail Rebriyev Sholokhov gymnasium, Vyoshenskaya). Lyubov Manko (Dubrovskaya school, the Sholokhov District) was the best in the middle age group, and Darya Golubeva (Grachovskaya school) was the best in the senior group.

In the nomination “Research Work” the contestants made a presentation “Sholokhov and Theatre” speaking about the life of the spectacles staged after different works of the writer in Russian theatres or about the performances made after one book – the story “The Fate of a Man” or the novel “Virgin Soil Upturned”. The winner was Yekaterina Yefremova (Sholokhov Gymnasium, Vyoshenskaya).

The winners and laureates of the contest were marked with diplomas and letters of thanks. Next year the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov will welcome

admirers and scholars of M.A.Sholokhov to the homeland of the writer for the contest “Our Sholokhov” again.
