Two Tourist Routes – Two Grand Prix All-Russian Awards!

The Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov gained a great success at the finale of the All-Russian Tourist Award “Itinerary of the Year-2017”, which was held in Kazan during November 1–2, 2017. For the first time taking part in this contest the Museum presented two tourist itineraries, and both of them won the highest mark – the Grand Prix of the All-Russian Award!

The tour program “We are Don Cossacks” in the nomination “The Best Ethnographical Itinerary” invites the visitors to learn about historical events, folklore, traditions and way of life of the Upper Don Cossacks. The tourist route “Towards Sholokhov Spring” in the nomination “The Best Tour for the Event” offers an opportunity to join the best event in culture according to the National Award in event tourism “Russian Event Awards-2016”. The program of the tours is rich and diverse: tours about the memorial Museum structures and Don country nature, interactive excursions and workshops, folklore performances and tasting dishes of Cossack cuisine.

The presentation of the tour programs was bright and sapid. The brief theatrical scenes including elements of dance, flanking, Cossack “talk” were developed by T.Galitsyna and V.Antipov, A.Shchebunyayev composed a musical accompaniment, N.Trofimenko carried out a big preparatory and organizational work on participation in the contest and performed a leading dance part, E.Kudina designed the presentation of Cossack cuisine for tasting, T.Nektova prepared information booklets. During the tour programs presentation the monitors demonstrated a slide show made by M.Berezovskaya and a video prepared by N.Bakhtiyarov. All the members of the Museum-Reserve delegation took part in the presentation: the driver S. Geniyevsky turned into a brave Cossack on the stage, and A.Vsyachenkov worked “behind the music console”. The contest participation was arranged by V.V.Sholokhova, Deputy Director for the Museum Development.

Initially, 446 projects from 67 regions of Russia were announced for participation in the contest of the All-Russian Tourist Award “Itinerary of the Year-2017”. The All-Russian finale presented 121 projects from 36 regions. The public presentations of the project finalists took place on November 1, 2017. According to the results the Expert Council determined the winners of the All-Russian Tourist Award “Itinerary of the Year-2017”.

The main award of the All-Russian Tourist Award “Itinerary of the Year-2017” is made by the masters of the Nizhny Novgorod Region in the technique of a unique Kazakov filigree. The Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov is the winner in two nominations and the owner of two Grand-Prix statuettes made in this exclusive technique.

Besides the awards for the victory in two nominations of the contest, the Museum was given a present certificate for a tour about Kazan from the tourist company “Travelling Bureau Kazan” and a certificate TOP-5 of people’s choice award of 30 000 Rub from the online-edition “Live Map of Russia” (www.2R.ru).

A convincing victory in the professional tourist contest will undoubtedly attract tourist companies and individual tourists to the routes of the Museum-Reserve and will help to show more brightly the beauty of the Don Cossack Sholokhov country!
