During the 2–3 of October, 2017, the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov took part in filming a cycle of programs “Travelling at Home” aimed at showing a tourism potential of the regions of Russia and, particularly, the Rostov Region.

The Rostov Region has all the necessary opportunities for development of domestic tourism. The main kinds of tourism in the region are business, informative, children’s, event and industrial. As well, an important role is played by motor-touring.

Film director Konstantin Yakovlev and his crew travel around Russia in a comfortable minivan, a motor home, and get acquainted with the sights, natural monuments, museums to show diverse natural-resource and historical-cultural potentials, which will facilitate the development of the cultural and informative tourism including that on the territory of the Rostov Region.

The first TV programs cover the South of Russia. The TV crew visited Starocherkassk, Novocherkassk, Taganrog, Azov, Tanais, Pukhlyakovsky Village and Stanitsa Razdorskaya.

The filming in Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya and its neighbourhood were carried out in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The professional crew and the Museum workers had done a great work within two days.

The anchormen Maxim Ilyinov and his son Tikhon will tell the audience about the structures of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov, natural sights of the Upper Don region – Lebyazhy Yar and the Old Oak. The tourists of the Rostov Region are offered travelling and rest in different parts famous for their history and ethnography. But today it is not enough to create and have a good tourism product. In order to make it popular in the market, it needs to be promoted. So the project “Travelling at Home” forms a general impression of the Rostov Region, creates fine settings of tourist attraction, contributes to active promotion of the existing tourist product of the region and prospect development of new tourist destinations in the area of the whole Don region.
