Competition “Our Sholokhov”

The final of the competition “Our Sholokhov” will take place on April 11, in Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya. The Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov holds it annually on the eve of the writer’s birthday.

This competition will run in three stages joined by the schoolchildren from the Verkhnedonskoy, Bokovsky, Kashari, Oblivsky and Sholokhov districts. The children will compete in four nominations in different age groups: research works – presentations themed “Sholokhov in Defence of Nature”; artistic reading of fragments from the works by M.A.Sholokhov; fine arts; arts and crafts.

In the last two nominations the participants will submit for the contest their drawings and crafts based on the work of M.A.Sholokhov and household culture of the Upper Don Cossacks.

First, a qualifying stage will take place in schools, then the education departments will select the best reading performers, artists, and scholars of Sholokhov’s works among the students of their district schools to rally for the final of the competition in the homeland of the writer.

The final stage will take place on April 11, at the excursion and exhibition centre People’s House in: 66, Podtyolkov Str., Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya. The competition day begins at 10.00.
