“Chocolate Ball” on Children Protection Day

02.06.2016

On June 1, Children Protection Day, the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov made a present for the children of Kalininsky Children’s Home and for the pupils of the parochial school – a “Chocolate Ball” held in the Excursion and Exhibition Centre “People’s House”.

It was the last day of the exhibition run “Everywhere Ask for…” (The history of the Russian State on a candy wrapper) presented by the Museum of History of Chocolate and Cocoa (MISHKA), and the children became the visitors of honour. Having taken a fascinating tour about the exhibition they learned about the history of chocolate, its interesting properties and saw unique candy wrappers bearing the pictures of the important events of the Russian history.

Then the children were invited to the “chocolate” ball of Queen Fantina, where they played games, took part in competitions and quizes. A real surprise was an offer to taste a chocolate bear, which is a symbol of the Museum of Chocolate and Cocoa. The tasty exhibit is about 45 sm. tall and 3.5 kg. of weight.

The chocolate Mishka was divided into small chocolates by A.M.Sholokhov, Director of the Museum-Reserve. Welcoming the children he congratulated them on the holiday and wished happy summer holidays.

The holiday was ended in the “Chocolate Laboratory”, where the children prepared a chocolate treat, wrapped it in foil and took the result of their “experiments” with them to treat their friends.
