Museum “Melpomene 2016”

On March 29, the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov held the third awarding ceremony of “Melpomene” in the excursion and exhibition centre “People’s House”.

This award was established in 2012 by A.M.Sholokhov, Director of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov, for talented acting roles in plays, theatrical scenes, artistic presentations of the Museum and travelling exhibitions, at the thematic recitals and literary and ethnographic holidays. The “Melpomene” awardees were actors of theatrical studio, gifted actors – museum workers, residents of Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya and the people fostering the development of theatrical art in the Sholokhov District.

This year, the workers of the department of arts and crafts made 20 nice awarding sculptures in the form of traditional comedy and tragedy masks. 29 applicants were presented in 20 nominations.

The ceremony was held in the format of “a skit”. The nominations were mainly facetious having original names: “Our Service is Dangerous and Difficult”, “People without a Leader are Like an Axe without a Holder”, “A Hard Work Makes Your Meal Tasty”, “Where There are Hands, the Work will Come” and others.

The museum actors enjoyed remembering merry and funny moments, which took place on theatrical stages.
