Sholokhov Estate on the New Year Holidays

15.01.2016

The Memorial House in the Estate of M.A.Sholokhov during the New Year holidays was visited by over 900 people. They came from different parts of Russia – from Ryazan, Moscow, Chelyabinsk, Voronezh, Krasnodar and even from Italy.

On those days there was held a thematic excursion “New Year Party in the Sholokhovs’ House” and the visitors learned about the tradition of New Year parties for children in the writer’s house. It was especially interesting for the young tourists and they had a pleasure of guessing the “Forest Riddles”, which were made up by Mikhail Alexandrovich in the 1930-s. Each visitor could send a postcard with the New Year wishes to their relatives and friends. This opportunity is provided by the project “From Sholokhov’s House with Love!”, which is held by the Museum-Reserve jointly with “The Post of Russia”.

The impressions of visiting the Memorial House-Museum of M.A.Sholokhov are reflected in the entries in the Guest Book: “We are the Melekhovs family from Ryazan, thank you for the tour. Everything is fine! Thank you! (A signature) 4.01.2016”; “You are getting a charge for the whole life from the feeling of complicity in this great phenomenon as M.Sholokhov. I thank the people, who preserve the memory of Sholokhov and his family. Respectfully. Soshnikov Sergei. Krasnodar”; “It is greatly impressive! We are proud of living on the same land together with the legendary personality. Let the memory of M.A.Sholokhov be blessed! Let Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya and the Don country thriving! (A signature)”.
