News“Sholokhov Spring” Took Place on the Don24.05.2015On May, 23, the All-Russian literary and folklore festival “Sholokhov Spring” dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the great Russian writer M.A.Sholokhov was over. The festivities lasted all day long till late at night gathering thousands of participants and viewers from all parts of Russia and foreign countries. The Saturday began with a theatrical reveille and marching of the folk groups along the streets of the stanitsa. Over 250 professional and amateur groups performed simultaneously on two stages. In the central alley of the park there laid out “A Fair of Don Masters”, where the articles of arts and crafts were on sale. The participants in game and competition program “Zadorny Kuren” (Perky Cossack House) competed in their knowledge of the works by M.A.Sholokhov. The District Library invited guests for the meeting of the literary club “Vyoshenskiye Vstrechi” (Meetings of Vyoshenskaya) and in the Excursion-Exhibition Centre “People’s House” the audience was entertained by the group of author’s song “Vyoshentsy” (Countrymen of Vyoshenskaya). The festival dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the writer was attended by Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Y.B.Milovzorova; Governor of the Rostov Region, V.Y.Golubev; Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee of the Federal Meeting of the Russian Federation for Culture, Z.M.Stepanova; Deputy Chairman of the Federal Council Committee of the Federal Meeting of the Russian Federation for International Affairs L.V.Tyagachov and other officials. They put flowers to the tombs of M.A.Sholokhov and his wife, in the Memorial House they signed jubilee postcards dedicated to the 110th anniversary of M.A.Sholokhov, which were stamped with a special impress. Then, the official delegation was shown the exhibition “Catherine II.The Path to the Throne” from the collection of the State Historical Museum. It runs now at the “People’s House”. At night, a water festival, a gala concert and a show by Anita Tsoy, Honoured Actress of Russia, took place on the water stage to follow with a great festival firework. |
