NewsGrand Opening of “Sholokhov Centre” in Rostov-on-Don22.05.2015On May, 22, in Rostov-on-Don, a grand opening of “Sholokhov-Centre” took place. It is a new site of the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve, which is going to be a venue for large exhibitions, cultural and educational projects in the Southern Federal District. The red ribbon was cut by V.Y.Golubev, the Rostov Region Governor, Y.B.Milovzorova, Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, and A.M.Sholokhov, Director of the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve. “Sholokhov Centre” began its activity with the exhibition “Traces of the Cossack Old Times…” from the collection of the State Hermitage, the main museum of Russia and the largest museum in the world. The exhibition embraces the works of painting, graphics, sculpture, arts and crafts, armaments and military ammunition, books and monuments of faleristics of the XVIII – XX centuries. The vast majority of exhibits have never been demonstrated in the southern regions of our country, many of the monuments are published for the first time.
