Environmental Class in Otrog
15.05.2015The children of Sholokhov school of Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya, within the project of “Environmental Museum School”, visited the spring of Otrog. Here, in two kilometres from the stanitsa, the children had a class “Living Water”.
The children learned that thanks to M.A.Sholokhov’s initiative the living water of the spring changed Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya. They compared a contemporary image of the stanitsa to the description in the novel “And Quiet Flows the Don” by Sholokhov, “travelled into the past” to learn about the busy life went by the spring in the XVII century, had a drink of cold fresh spring water. As a warming-up the children solved riddles, filled in missing words to sayings, proverbs and popular expressions about water.
The class made the children look in a new way at their native stanitsa set in lush gardens.
